A KC-130J with Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 252 aerial refuels an MV-22B Osprey on a long distance aerial refueling exercise July 12. Two C-130s with 252 teamed up with four more C-130s and several Ospreys with VMM-362 out of MCAS New River the joint unit exercise. Aerial refueling allows aircraft that normally couldn’t travel a certain distance, to travel an extended distance to overall enhance mission capabilities.
