The band, Shoeless Joe, from Rockhampton, plays classic rock for the paratroopers at the Great Western Hotel and Steakhouse in Rockhampton during Talisman Sabre 2011. The U.S. Army's 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry Regiment, from Joint Airbase Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, and Australian Defence Force 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, parachute jump masters were treated to a Australian Rodeo and dinner at the steakhouse after their tactical parachute insertion into Shoalwater Bay Training Area as part of their participating in Talisman Sabre 2011. TS11 is an exercise designed to train U.S. and Australian forces to plan and conduct Combined Task Force operations to improve combat readiness and interoperability on a variety of missions from conventional conflict to peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance efforts.
