180418-N-KK935-0398 PHILIPPINE SEA (April 18, 2018) An F-35B Lightning II with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VFMA) 121 taxis on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) as the guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105) transits alongside following an expeditionary strike (EXPOSTRIKE) as part of CERTEX. The 31st MEU and Amphibious Squadron 11 conduct a Certification Exercise (CERTEX) as the final evaluation in a series of training exercises which ensures readiness for crisis response throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
