MRE’s are placed on a pallet in preparation for an aerial delivery during Certification Exercise aboard the USS Wasp (LHD-1) while underway in the Philippine Sea, April 16, 2018. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 31 joined U.S. Army Soldiers with 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (airborne), to conduct the drop. Safety and operational risk management are always a priority during air drop operations. The 31st MEU and Amphibious Squadron 11 conduct CERTEX as the final evaluation in a series of training exercises which ensures readiness for crisis response throughout the Indo-Pacific region.
