Carlos Mercado, a Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team paratrooper, cuts away the uniform on a medical simulation dummy during the medical lane portion of Day Stakes during the 2018 Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning, Georgia on Apr. 14. Mercado’s team was one of only a few that completed the medical lane with no penalties or mistakes.
