Retiring after a 21-year career as a successful entrepreneur in Silicon Valley gave Blank time to think about why some startups succeeded and others failed. Teaching entrepreneurship classes, he realized “that we were just missing something really big,” with entrepreneurs focused first on developing a technology and building a company and then hoping to make money.
