Educators from New Jersey attempt to complete an obstacle during the leadership reaction course, or “LRC,” March 28, 2018, on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. The LRC is part of the Crucible, the final graduation requirement for recruits to earn the title Marine. The course is designed to challenge recruits critical thinking and force them to work together to overcome the obstacle. “This was the funnest thing we’ve done,” said Katy Kelly, a teacher with Hunterdon Central High School.
