U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 15, 2018) Quartermaster Seaman Adon Cox, from New York, uses a pelorus to take bearings from the port bridge-wing of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) during a sea-and-anchor detail as the ship pulls into into Aqaba, Jordan in support of exercise Eager Lion April 15, 2018. USS Iwo Jima is in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations participating in Eager Lion, a capstone training engagement that provides U.S. Forces and the Jordan Armed Forces an opportunity to rehearse operating in a coalition environment and to pursue new ways to collectively address threats to regional security and improve overall maritime security.
