U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 6, 2018) U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Jummane H. Powell, a section leader with the Assault Amphibious Vehicle (AAV) Platoon, Fox Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), supervises his section from an AAV-P7/A1 assault amphibious vehicle prior to a company movement in the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Operations. The 26th MEU trains to sustain expeditionary readiness across a range of critical capabilities both afloat and ashore in order to be prepared to respond to crisis in the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Operations.
