U.S. Army Sgt. Jim Bain poses with a sketch of himself at the base theater at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., April 8, 2018. The sketch was done while he was recuperating from wounds he suffered during the Battle of the Bulge Dec. 18, 1944 to Jan. 25, 1945. He received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart for his service. Bain addressed the 714th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 514th Air Mobility Wing, at the base theater. The 514th is an Air Force Reserve Command unit located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
