Medal of Honor recipient and Vietnam veteran Gary Wetzel gets a standing ovation after receiving a framed proclamation from Gov. Scott Walker declaring March 29, 2018, as Vietnam Veterans Day in Wisconsin at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 305 in Eau Claire, Wis., during "Welcome Home: A Vietnam War Commemoration" on March 29. The event, which took place 45 years to the day that the last U.S. troops withdrew from Vietnam, honored Vietnam veterans for their service and sacrifice. Similar events were held across the nation as part of the first national Vietnam Veterans Day. Wisconsin National Guard photo by Sgt. Katie Eggers
