Capt. Brian Slotnick, a native of Tom's River, New Jersey, and a member of the 215th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, travels with the 1st Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 5th Iraqi Army during a cordon and knock mission in Hadid, Iraq, April 21. The mission placed the IA in the lead with support from the 1-2-5 Military Transition Team, made up of Slotnick and other members of 3rd BCT, in search for information about the presence of al-Qaida in the local area.
