A drill instructor with Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, instructs a recruit to follow directions during a senior drill instructor inspection at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, March 29. This is the first of four inspections recruits will undergo during training, which gives the drill instructors opportunities to see the progress each recruit has made. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Delta Company is scheduled to graduate June 1.
