U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (March 31, 2018) Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jonathon M. Conklin, 20, a native of Gardner, Massachusetts and team leader assigned to Fox Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, the Marine in the Spotlight award winner for the week, is presented with a certificate and shirt aboard the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51). The Oak Hill is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
