Contractors begin placing the foundation for modular classrooms that will serve as Joplin High School at Shopko in Joplin, Mo. Construction on the high school is now 15 percent complete. Joplin High School was destroyed after being hit by an EF-5 tornado on May 22, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been tasked by FEMA to build all eight schools that were affected as part of the critical public facility mission.
