180329-N-NM806-0044 PHILIPPINE SEA (March 29, 2018) The amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) prepares to conduct a replenishment-at-sea (RAS) with the fleet replenishment oiler USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199). Wasp, part of the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, are operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners, serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency and advance the Up-Gunned ESG Concept.
