The 477th Fighter Group is the only Air Force Reserve unit in Alaska. As a Classic Associate, the unit is responsible for recruiting, training, developing and retaining Citizen Airmen to support the 3rd Wing and Expeditionary Air Force mission requirements. The 477th FG is dependent on Reservists, Air Reserve Technicians and civilians working side-by-side with the active duty's 3rd Wing to operate, maintain and support the F-22 Raptors that are assigned here.
