CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan – Cpl. Michael Li plays Operation with two girls during English Fun and Games March 23 at AEON Mall in Okinawa, Japan. Marines would nonverbally and verbally communicate, using hand gestures paired with words to teach their new friends about the rules of the game and converse. The games acted as a common ground, directing the conversation and creating a positive atmosphere. Li is a Single Marine Program representative. (U.S Marine photo by Lance Cpl. Tayler P. Schwamb)
