The new clinic is part of the New Horizons exercise being conducted in Suriname. The New Horizons exercises are only one group of events in a broad range of activities that U.S. Southern Command carries out in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Southern Command’s service members also contribute to professional and educational exchanges, economic development, and the strengthening of democratic institutions among other activities.
