MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 16, 2018) U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Joseph Ortiz assigned to Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) receives a certificate of completion during a Lance Corporal’s Leadership Seminar graduation ceremony aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) March 16, 2018. The course teaches Marines ethics, values and leadership skills to develop their character and teach them the importance of small unit leadership in the U.S. Marine Corps deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
