180313-N-PH222-0162 PACIFIC OCEAN (March 13, 2018) The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) fires its MK 46 – 30 mm Gun Weapon System during a simulated strait transit training exercise. Anchorage is underway with other ships of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) in the Navy’s first ARG Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT) exercise. SWATT is led by the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center (SMWDC) and is designed to increase warfighting proficiency, lethality, and interoperability of participating units.
