VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Combat Direction Systems Activity announced March 15 that it received final approval to change its name to Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA). The short name is NSWCDD Dam Neck Activity. The command is located on Naval Air Station Oceana Dam Neck Annex where it is situated on the Atlantic coast, five miles south of the downtown resort of Virginia Beach. NSWCDD Dam Neck Activity is a systems engineering, acquisition, and in-service support organization that engineers and fields warfare systems superiority. The command's Readiness and Training Department delivers operationally ready systems and platforms for naval warfighters. Through innovation and rigorous systems engineering, NSWCDD Dam Neck Activity provides timely, safe, and cost-effective solutions to support the Fleet and warfighters in: command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, cyber warfare, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; systems engineering; integrated training systems; combat system readiness, support and sustainment; systems safety engineering; cybersecurity readiness engineering, and test and evaluation.
