Marines from 2nd Platoon, 4th Reconnaissance (Recon) Battalion, provide security while 4th Recon Marines talk with locals from Al um Waz, Iraq about current issues ranging from the new Iraqi government to insurgent activity. RCT-2 is deployed with II Marine Expeditionary Force is deployed with Multi-National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
