Contracted construction workers elevate existing dikes along the Mouse River to 19 feet in an attempt to prevent flooding from extending further into the of the city of Minot, June 24. The Souris River soars nearly 4 feet and has left over 2,500 homes with water damage, with an estimated 4,000 homes expected to suffer significant water damage by day's end. About a fourth of the city's residents were evacuated earlier this week.
