"Aunt" Stella Gerczak, Joseph Gerczak's youngest sister, embraces the flag presented to her during the commissioning ceremony of the cutter named after her brother on Base Honolulu, March 9, 2018. The original flag given to her mother was lost in a family flood. The Coast Guard, with the assistance of the U.S. Representative Lloyd Smucker (PA) and his staff, replaced the flag and it has flown over the United States Capitol and off the cutter.
