Tech. Sgt. Jesse Talamantes, C-5 flight engineer, works on a checklist for a C-5M Super Galaxy at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, on June 5, 2011. Talamantes was one of the crew members who flew on a mission that was the Air Force's first direct delivery airlift mission through the Arctic Circle from Dover Air Force Base, Del., to Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. Talamantes is from the 9th Airlift Squadron at Dover AFB and his hometown is Long Beach, Calif.
