USANATO Soldiers compete for German Badge [Image 1 of 14]
Three Soldiers from Headquarters, Headquarters Company, U.S. Army NATO Brigade, from left to right, Staff Sgt. Justin Jennings, Sgt. Jared Lambert, and Staff Sgt. Demi Gatrell competed for the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge recently, at a GAFPB training event hosted by Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. The GAFPB is a coveted German proficiency badge that can be worn on U.S. Army Service Uniforms, and is awarded in gold, silver or bronze, depending on the competitor’s performance in all events. The badge is earned by competing in a series of challenging events including a 12 mile road march, a grueling swim in combat uniforms, and a demanding marksmanship event with only 6 shots, where each shot can mean the difference between gold, and nothing at all.
