U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 1st Lt. Luke Groom and structural engineer, Julio C. Morelos waves the green flag to signal to students at DeSales High School in Walla Walla, WA after a successful placement of a tennis ball in the weighing sack. Students worked together on a building a paper tower for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, EWeek Competition “Towering above the Imagination.” Students throughout, Walla Walla, College Place and Pendleton Middle and High School participated in the Corps competition from February 20th to the 26th engineers from Corps district were in the classrooms introducing engineering concepts to students and teachers, using hands-on projects to connect them to real-world careers in STEM. The Corps of Engineers’ mission is dedicated to serving the Nation. EWeek is one of many opportunities that the Corps takes to give back to the community and its’ future
