Matthew Conner, a St. Louis native, cheers on the Marine fighters of 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment at the "First to Fight" amateur boxing tournament. Marines and St. Louis police and firefighters go toe-to-toe at the Scottstrade Center in St. Louis, June 20 with all proceeds benefiting Backstoppers, Semper Fi Foundation and Toys for Tots. Before Conner finished his time in the Marine Corps, he was stationed with 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment as a lance corporal. Marine Week provides an opportunity to increase public awareness of the Marine Corps' value to our nation's defense and to preserve and mature the Corps' relationship with the American people.
