Sgt. Matthew Caron, an infantryman with Headquarters Co., 3rd Infantry Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 4th Advise and Assist Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, holds a 9mm round magazine in his hand as his truck prepares to leave Camp Ramadi on a convoy to Fallujah June 11. Caron gave directions to Paratroopers with 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, during the journey so they will know the routes after the 4/3 AAB soldiers redeploy to the U.S. As one of the few units to have taken part in every major campaign of the U.S. military's operations in Iraq, the 2/82 has been tasked with ensuring that the Iraqi Security Forces are able to maintain a safe and secure environment for the Iraqi people as the 2/82 leads the transition of U.S. Forces out of Iraq.
