    Wife Jan Hailey (left) presents her husband, Col. Robert Hailey (right) with the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment's bronze deFleury Medal as Hailey retired from the U.S. Army February 23, 2018 at the Fort Hamilton headquarters of the North Atlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Brooklyn, New York. Hailey's final active duty assignment included serving as the division's deputy commander (reserves), an especially important role in 2017 when Graham was forwarded deployed to Afghanistan.

    Those persons nominated for the bronze DeFleury medal will have demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, standards of integrity and moral character, and a strong devotion to duty and country for a period exceeding 10 years.

    Prior to duties as deputy commander (reserves), Hailey served as the North Atlantic Division's engineer planner with the U.S. Africa Command staff in at Kelley Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany.

    Col. Hailey and his wife Jan are residents of Papillion, Nebraska.
