Spc. Dien Nguyen, 401st Transportation Company, was one of the first U.S. Army Reserve soldiers who learned to operate the Expeditionary Water Packaging System during the nationwide Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise 2011. "I'm hands on [with] this, but it's so sterile, I feel like I'm working in a pharmaceutical lab," he said. Nguyen explained that, while he is operating the prototype model tested in Iraq, soldiers in Afghanistan are already enjoying water produced by more advanced versions of the system.
