Paratroopers assigned to the 2nd Advise and Assist Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, read, listen to music and make last calls to loved ones at Green Ramp on Pope Army Airfield shortly before departing for Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn, May 29, 2011. The soldiers used every means of entertainment to keep themselves busy before and during their day-long journey to Al Asad Air Base, Iraq. As one of the few units to have taken part in every major campaign of the U.S. military's operations in Iraq, the 2nd AAB, 82nd Abn. Div., has been tasked with ensuring that the Iraqi security forces are able to maintain a safe and secure environment for the Iraqi people as the unit leads the transition of U.S. forces out of Iraq.
