Soldiers from the “Rough Riders” —Detachment 15, 1st Battalion, 391st Regiment—prepare Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles for a mission from Forward Operating Base Union III in Baghdad, Iraq, during a dust storm. The Rough Riders provide convoy security and personal security detail support to U.S., NATO, joint forces, and dignitaries throughout the Baghdad area. Detachment 15 consists of soldiers from five sister battalions across New York, New Jersey, Maine, Connecticut and Ohio. The Rough Riders currently support Operation New Dawn as part of the XVIII Airborne Corps’ Task Force Dragon.
