Maj. Gen. Terrence McKenrick, U.S. Army Central deputy commanding general, talks to Soldiers of the Massachusetts Army National Guard's 151st Regional Support Group Jan. 30, 2018, at Fort Hood, Texas, where they are participating in a culminating training exercise with First Army for the Pennsylvania Army National Guard's 28th Infantry Division. Both units are preparing to deploy to the Middle East, where the 151st RSG Soldiers will augment the ARCENT staff, and the 28th ID Soldiers will support theater combat operations, Operation Spartan Shield, and theater security cooperation with the United States' 17 partner nations in the region. “Underlying all that is readiness," McKenrick said. "We’re trying to build readiness, whether for contingency operations in the region or to redeploy units at a higher state of readiness."
