South Dakota Air National Guard Master Sgt. Darin Gillen (right) and Master Sgt. Bryan Chesshir of the 114th Fighter Wing, fill sandbags in support of the flood fighting effort along the Missouri River in Pierre, June 4. Although some soldiers and airmen have changed roles to other tasks, sandbags were still being produced at the Solid Waste Facility. Currently, nearly 1,300 South Dakota Air and Army National Guard members are on duty and performing flood operations support throughout the state during this historic Missouri River flooding event.
