Maj. Mark Crimaldi, deputy commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Recovery Field Office-Puerto Rico, recognized Mobile District's Gloria Young, who deployed to Puerto Rico for a second time as an internal review officer in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency-led Hurricane Maria / Hurricane Irma response and recovery effort. Her two deployments since the two September 2017 hurricanes total of 64 days.

Within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, internal review officers observe employees during mission execution to gain an understanding of their tasks and provide suggestions for process improvement and efficiency.

Young is a resident of Fairhope, Alabama.
