Maj. Mark Crimaldi, deputy commander of the Recovery Field Office-Puerto Rico, recognized Shannon Hyatt, a contracting specialist from the Mobile District.
Hyatt was deployed to Puerto Rico for 30 days in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency-led Hurricane Maria / Hurricane Irma response and recovery effort. As a contracting specialist, he completed actions that enabled the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to repair critical public facilities, helping essential Puerto Rico public services damaged by the two September 2017 hurricanes including schools and police stations to begin recovering.
Hyatt lives in Mobile, Alabama.
