Foster, assigned to Carrier Strike Group 11 (CCSG 11), center left, and Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Genesis F. Mariano, assigned to Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific, center right, are named Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet (C3F) sea and shore Sailors of the year, respectively. The announcement was made during a 2017 Sailor of the Year ceremony held at the C3F headquarters building in San Diego. The C3F sea and shore Sailors of the year will advance to compete for the title of Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet Sailor of the Year in March.
