180202-N-AC254-179 NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (Feb. 2, 2018) Personnel Specialist 3rd Class Racheal Muniu, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), mans the rails as the ship returns to its homeport of Naval Base San Diego following their first operational deployment. America, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is returning from a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific and Middle East. The U.S. Navy has patrolled the Indo-Pacific region routinely for more than 70 years promoting peace and security.
