Crane Army Ammunition Activity workers burn aircraft flares to ensure accurate burn times. The U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy use the flares and depend on sufficient burn periods to produce infrared (IR) signatures that can confuse enemy missiles. Crane Army Ammunition Activity provides conventional munitions support for U.S. Army and Joint Force readiness, including production, demilitarization, transportation, and storage.
