Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael A. Smith, a hospital corpsman with III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, was awarded the III MEF Marine Corps Association & Foundation Sailor of the Year award during the inaugural MCA&F dinner at the Butler Officers’ Club, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 12, 2018. Smith is a native of Fort Pierce, Florida. “What gets me up in the morning is making those relationships with other Marines and Sailors,” said Smith. “We’re all cogs in a big machine.
