MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - A Soldier with the Western Army Infantry Regiment, Japan Ground Self Defense Force, enters a building during Military Operations on Urban Terrain training during exercise Iron Fist 2018, Jan. 17. This year’s exercise Iron Fist is the 13th year of the annual bilateral exercise, which takes place in Southern California. The exercise brings together U.S. Marines and Soldiers from the JGSDF to improve their bilateral planning, communicating, and conducting of combined amphibious operations.
