SASEBO, Japan (Jan. 14, 2018) Chief Warrant Officer 2 Franklin Williams, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), reunites with his family after mooring in Sasebo, Japan. The Wasp, capable of operating the U.S. Marine Corp's F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, will replace USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) as the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship in the 7th Fleet area of operations.
