Four-year-old pilot for the day Evan Krogen, of West Fargo, N.D., pauses for a photo in front of a historic Happy Hooligan F-4 aircraft at the Fargo Air Museum, Fargo, N.D. He is visiting the museum as part of the pilot for the day activities at the North Dakota Air National Guard. The pilot for the day program treats children who are fighting or have overcome a life-threatening illness or condition to a special tour at a military base. Krogen was promoted to the honorary rank of general for the day and had the opportunity to experience what it is like to do many of the jobs at the North Dakota Air National Guard, including pilot, fire fighter, and explosives specialist. The young boy is currently in remission from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and is being given the special day to take his mind off of the ongoing treatments.
