    1st Security Force Assistance Brigade

Capt. Justin Alexander, 1st Battalion, 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade, and fellow Soldiers encounter role players acting as disgruntled villagers along their route to a simulated town to assist the Afghan National Army Security Forces as part of an event at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Polk, La., Jan. 13, 2018. The 1st SFAB conducted training as part of a month-long rotation in preparation for their upcoming deployment to provide training and advising assistance to Afghan National Security Forces. Security Force Assistance Brigades allow the Army to reduce demand on conventional Brigade Combat Teams, over time, for combat advising; increasing Brigade Combat Team readiness for current and emerging near-peer threats.
