Marines and Sailors, attending the Lioness Program, receive training at Al Asad, Iraq, on various improvised explosive devices being used to attack coalition and Iraqi forces. This program is being used to ensure proper care is taken while searching female Iraqis. Regimental Combat Team 2 is deployed with II Marine Expeditionary Force in support of Operation Iraq Freedom in the Al Anbar province, of Iraq, Multi-National Forces-West, to develop the Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market base economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
