An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew prepares to land on the cove shelf in a tidal pool during the medevac of an immobilized hiker off a cliff in Whale Cove, Ore., Jan. 2, 2018.

Due to the tree height and a strong east wind over the steep terrain, the aircrew was unable to hoist the hiker from the cliff and conducted the medevac from the cove shelf 100-fee below the cliff instead.
