CH-47 Chinook aircraft assigned to the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division depart the landing zone after transporting M119A3 howitzers and an artillery crew from the 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division on Fort Bragg, NC during Operation Panther Blade, a multi-day air assault and deep strike involving more than 800 Paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division. The 1-319 Airborne Field Artillery Regiment fired in support of elements from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division during a 100-kilometer brigade air assault operation. Operation Panther Blade demonstrated the ability of the 82nd Airborne Division to integrate expeditionary aviation capability with indirect fire and ground maneuver assets in any environment.
