PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (Dec. 12, 2017) Rear Adm. Rod DeWalt, deputy commander Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, sits inside a standard Navy double-lock recompression chamber (SNDL) while visiting Mobile Diving Salvage Unit (MDSU) ONE. MDSU detachments provide SNDLs across the globe in countries without organic recompression chamber capabilities in order to conduct treatment for diving related issues. MDSU ONE provides combat ready, expeditionary, rapidly deployable mobile diving and salvage detachments to conduct harbor clearance, salvage, underwater search and recovery, and underwater emergency repairs in any environment.
